It would be a good idea to get sign up for the monthly Unlimited MetroCard. You should also prepare to utilize Uber or Lyft to get around for those times you just don’t feel like taking public transportation.

Decrease in Cost of Living = Decrease in Pay Though the cost of living in Manhattan is certainly higher than in any of the other four NYC boroughs, the pay is higher as well to compensate. Realize that if you’re moving to the Bronx, Queens, Brooklyn or Staten Island for a new job, your pay will be somewhat less as well. It’s all relative! The best way to take advantage of this is to work in Manhattan, make Manhattan-rate pay, and then live and play in of NYC’s other four boroughs!
