Races/Marathons
Shleppers has always focused on the greater causes and making a difference in the community. Over the years we have competed and supported numerous social causes throughout 5k, 10k, and marathon road races. We are well known for raising awareness about certain causes and making pledges including a run to eradicate breast and ovarian cancer. Whether it is for a charitable walk or run, Shleppers will be there with truckloads of shirts, water, Gatorade, foods, pallets, and more!
College Scholarships
Starting this year, Shleppers is awarding FOUR $1,200 scholarships to college students from our service areas (Manhattan, Brooklyn, Queens, Bronx, Westchester, and Rockland County). This scholarship is intended to help them prepare for making our region a better place to live. What we ask of applicants is simple, yet is profound: submit an essay titled “How I am going to help the community after I graduate”. Shleppers wants to help students move towards their career goals while also thinking of ways they can impact on their community.
Work With the Medical Community
We are well applauded for our involvement and support for many non-profit organizations and charitable causes. We have raised awareness and funds towards organizations in the medical community such as American Friends of Rabin Medical Center, National Multiple Sclerosis Society, American Diabetes Association, and Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center. We at Shleppers believe we can help eradicate diseases and improve the quality of life in our community by contributing to the medical and scientific professionals who are working so diligently toward these ends.
Environmentally Friendly
Throughout the day, Shleppers is constantly optimizing ways to be environmentally friendly. Simple ways we make a difference is by donating items as part of our junk removal service rather than contributing to our landfill problems, and reusing & recycling boxes as part of our box delivery service. Furthermore, Shleppers is so adamant about protecting the environment the we teamed up with Central Park Conservancy so that every time a customer submits a feedback letter, Shleppers will donate.
Helping Kids/Education
At Shleppers, we pride ourselves in donating materials and accessories to local schools and daycares for students. Additionally, Shleppers has helped raise money and supported local toy drives, Kid’s Kloset, Solomon Schechter School of Westchester, Park Avenue Methodist Day School, The Educational Alliance and various foodbanks. Shleppers cares about the students and children of their community and is always finding new causes to show support and raise awareness.
