Whether you’re planning a local or long distance move, it’s Shleppers policy that you, or your authorized representative, is on site during the move. This policy has two purposes: it’s the quickest, most efficient way to address any concerns that arise during the move, and it helps you enjoy increased peace of mind.
Ideally, we’ve found it’s best to have the homeowner or business owner be on site themselves during the move, but that isn’t always possible. With that in mind, here are the qualities you want to have in your authorized representative:
Responsible decision maker:
In the event any unforeseen events cause us to have to deviate from the agreed upon moving plan, we rely on your authorized decision maker to answer questions, approve changes, and authorize any additional charges. For this reason, you want to choose a representative you trust and can rely on.
Physical stamina & good health:
A move can take several hours, and your authorized representative will need to be on scene for the duration. With this in mind, you want to choose someone who is physically capable of being in this environment independently.
Trustworthiness:
During your move, your valuable possessions will be packed, transported and unpacked. Opportunities exist for unscrupulous individuals to help themselves to things that are not theirs. Our professional moving team has been thoroughly vetted and strict oversight is in place to ensure loss prevention on our side; you want to make sure your authorized representative is an honest person who respects your things.
Reliability:
The authorized representative needs to be on site as scheduled for the move to happen. Choose an individual who honors their commitments and will show up as needed.
Good communication and people skills:
The Shleppers team is made of friendly professionals who are easy to talk to. The one thing we can’t do is read minds. Choose an authorized representative that’s comfortable talking to people and making sure things are done the way you’d like them to be done.
18+ please!
Authorized representatives must be legal adults.
Have any questions? We’d be happy to answer them. Just drop us a line and we’ll get right back to you.
