Shleppers Moving & Storage is proud to announce Green Moving — and its new initiative as a Corporate Partner of the Central Park Conservancy is its crown jewel in going green.
“Shleppers is committed to a better environment and to helping the New York City community achieve a greener New York,” says Shleppers COO Allen Golan. “We want to create a joint venture with our customers that will help maintain our island of green for all who live and work here, and for the Park’s natural habitat as well.”
For every customer who submits a feedback letter on-line or by mail, Shleppers will donate $2 to the Conservancy — and with an average of 300 moves a month, Shleppers is able to pledge an ongoing annual contribution of nearly $10,000. “Any letter Shleppers receives from our customers will now directly help preserve the calm and beauty the Park provides,” adds Ms. Benjamin-Bohm.
In addition, Shleppers’ Green Moving initiatives will include updated fuel conservation measures for its fleet of trucks, a new box recycling program, green moving tips for customers, and grouping of scheduled appointments by area for greater fuel efficiency.
