op New York moving company Shleppers Moving & Storage is proud to announce its recent donation of time, trucks and support to the March of Dimes March for Babies® Charity Walk at Saxon Woods Pool in White Plains, New York, from April 29th through the main Walk event on May 1st, 2011.
The premier fundraising event from the March of Dimes, March for Babies® benefits all babies- – those born healthy as well as those who need help to survive and thrive. This year, for the Walk event in White Plains, Shleppers donated a variety of services in support of the worthy cause from beginning to end. Shleppers’ expert movers loaded trucks for the charity, unloaded tables and chairs for the event, set up tents, and helped to hang signage and banners around the event vicinity. On May 1st, for the Walk event itself, Shleppers personnel assisted by handing out water and stacking trucks, and set up a Shleppers tent from which they also gave away Frisbees, T-Shirts, umbrellas, and more. The Westchester March for Babies Walk event was a huge success, attracting more than 4,500 walkers, sponsors and volunteers, and raising approximately $820,000.
“All of us at the March of Dimes want to extend our deepest gratitude to the Shleppers team for the exceptional job done with the logistical setup, breakdown and route coordination for the 2011 March for Babies Walk held at Saxon Woods Pool in White Plains, NY,” comments Sharon Masciovecchio, Director of Walk for the March of Dimes Northern Metro Division. “This is the second year in a row that Shleppers has helped us, and the fact that Shleppers donated these services saved our organization thousands of dollars and made it a lot easier. Many thanks to the entire Shleppers team for a job well done, and for helping the March of Dimes in its mission to prevent birth defects, premature birth and infant mortality. Their donation of services truly helps us come closer to achieving this mission.”
“We were privileged and delighted to take part in supporting the March for Babies again this year,” comments Shleppers President, Jason Friedland. “As a father with three healthy babies, I know how precious that is, and it’s not something I take for granted. At Shleppers, we want to do whatever we can to help keep babies healthy, and were proud to support the March for Babies event in Westchester again this year with our people and trucks — it’s a truly worthy cause.”
