Shleppers Supports 2011 United Way Event
Top New York moving company Shleppers Moving & Storage is proud to announce its recent donation of time, truck and manpower to support to the Volunteer Center of the United Way.
Over 1,000 canned goods and nonperishable items were collected with the help of Shleppers. Over one thousand people attended the Westchester Remembers 9/11 event at the County Center in White Plains. 776 acts of volunteerism took place between 2pm and 7pm. Now, the Volunteer Center is a finalist for a change grant of $25,000 for next year’s 9/11 service events. “Shleppers was just fantastic and made running this event much smoother than it otherwise would be,” comments Alisa Kesten, Executive Director of the Volunteer Center of United Way. Jason Friedland, President of Shleppers Moving & Storage said, “We love volunteering our resources to serve the community, and this is an excellent cause.”
