Top New York moving company Shleppers Moving & Storage is proud to announce its recent donation of time, trucks and support to the Food Allergy & Anaphylaxis Network (FAAN) Walk for Food Allergy on October 1st. The event was held by FAAN in at the Glenn Island Park in New Rochelle, NY to raise awareness of food allergies and anaphylaxis, as well as the issues surrounding the conditions.

Shleppers also donated trucks and manpower for the Long Island walk for the second year in a row.

The walks are meant to raise awareness and support for combating food allergies. About 12 million people, or four percent of the U.S. population, suffer from food allergies. Severe reactions from food allergies result in 50,000 to 125,000 trips to emergency rooms in the United States each year, and the Food Allergy & Anaphylaxis Network (FAAN) works to increase awareness of food allergy dangers to save lives.

“The Shleppers team was outstanding and helped make this event possible,” comments Stephanie Hirschberg, the Walk Event Chair for Westchester. “This day would not have been possible without the support of Shleppers! In addition to the donation of transport they provided, the highly professional Shleppers team also offered any help we needed for moving and transporting anything as we prepared for the event, and their beautiful trucks added prestige to our event. We couldn’t ask for finer volunteers, and with the help of Shleppers and others, we raised $185,000 from this year’s walk.”

For the Food Allergy & Anaphylaxis Network (FAAN) Walk for Food Allergy of Westchester, Shleppers picked up various goods needed for the walk including all of the tables and chairs and then set up everything for the walk.
“We were privileged and delighted to take part in continuing our support of the Food Allergy and Anaphylaxis Network for the second year in a row,” comments Shleppers President, Jason Friedland. “We supported the walk in Long Island and we are glad to expand our support for this great organization to Westchester.”
