Catholic Charities Brooklyn and Queens Honors Shleppers for Helping Families in Need at ChristmasNew York, NY (PRWEB) January 14, 2010 Catholic Charities Brooklyn and Queens, along with Catholic Charities Progress of Peoples Development Corporation, honored Shleppers Moving and Storage at the event as a community partner for transporting goods to families in need in the community as well as for the company's overall commitment to charitable works. 'Shleppers was honored to be among the generous individuals and companies recognized by the Catholic Charities at the Bishop's Testimonial Dinner in December,' comments Shleppers President, Jason Friedland. 'The knowledge that the Shleppers team was able to make a significant contribution toward the Catholic Charities mission of service is the best reward we could possibly receive. We will continue to do our part in 2010 and beyond.' Shleppers Moving & Storage, one of the largest and most respected moving companies in the New York Tri-State area, supports Catholic Charities with the donation of numerous trucks as well as delivery personnel effectively managing the logistics and transportation of the Home Depot Framing Hope donations, so that the agency can transport donated items from The Home Depot's donations program to the agency's distribution centers and (most of all) to the people and programs that need them most. Also honored at the Annual Bishop's Testimonial Dinner on December 7 were David Reznick, Rev. Msgr. Raymond W. Kutner, and The Home Depot. Reznick received the 2009 Progress of Peoples Achievement Award, while Rev. Msgr. Raymond W. Kutner received the 2009 Ubi Caritas Deus Ibi Award for distinguished, unselfish support of human services. The Home Depot, meanwhile, was also honored for its Framing Hope Program. 'At Shleppers, our work is about more than just moving objects -- we're moving lives,' adds Friedland. 'Our ongoing support of the Catholic Charities-Home Depot Framing Hope community partnership, as well as its program to bring toys to children at Christmas, gives Shleppers the chance to use its unique resources to bring a little extra joy to the community around us.' With offices in Manhattan and Yonkers, New York, Shleppers Moving & Storage is dedicated to a variety of worthy causes around New York and the Tri-State area. The company's charitable and community commitments include both the New York City, Westchester, and Long Island communities on an ongoing basis, and have included, in addition to Catholic Charities, organizations such as The March of Dimes, Memorial Sloan-Kettering, The Community Mayors Foundation, The Foodbank of New York, The American Diabetes Association, The Central Park Conservancy, The Bottomless Closet, The JCC Maccabi Games, The Food Allergy & Anaphylaxis Network, and others.
