Giving back to the community is one of the key elements of the Shleppers mission statement.
For Shleppers, business has never been just about making money. In 2001 Shleppers rose to meet the challenge of the tragic disaster on September 11. The company's support at Chelsea Piers during the rescue efforts, consisting of manpower, trucks and storage space during the initial months following the crisis demonstrated the true partnership of Shleppers and the City of New York.

March of Dimes Foundation
Shleppers is the official mover of the March of Dimes, and was honored by the Real Estate Board of the March of Dimes for helping with the annual March for Babies Walk and for the overall involvement of Shleppers in community affairs. Read the thank you letter.
The New York Society Library
Shleppers provides Project Cicero and the New York Society Library with free moving services so that 2,000 donated children's books could be transported to the right place to served under-resourced public schools throughout New York City.
Catholic Charities Brooklyn and Queens
Catholic Charities of Brooklyn and Queens sees its mission as promoting unity among all persons by seeking to develop caring communities. To fulfill its commitment to providing humane social services to all of its neighbors, Catholic Charities sponsors 183 programs and services throughout the boroughs of Brooklyn & Queens. Shleppers provides trucks and manpower to bring goods donated by Home Depot to the charity's distribution centers. Read the thank you letter.
Young Presidents Organization
Thank you so much for having Shleppers participate in our YPO Metro New York holiday party. At the party we collected toys, books and clothing for deserving people in New York City. Your donation of boxes, packing tape and a moving crew greatly assisted with the delivery of these goods. With Shleppers help, we were able to have all of our donations collected the day after our event and delivered to the venues where they were immediately given out to those in need. United Way of Westchester & Putnam
Shleppers received customer's IBM children computers, desk and accessories. Shleppers staff helped sorting and redistributing equipment and also provided on small box for each location to put several smaller items (mouse, keyboard, training manuals, etc) into each box. Once arranged the computers were delivered to individual locations (daycares and schools).
Keller Williams Hudson Valley Realty
Shleppers delivered and set up 3 storage vaults to store donated furniture for the Keller Williams fund raising event . Shleppers supplied a moving truck and manpower to pick up donated furniture, broke down and picked up vaults after event. National Multiple Slerosis Society
Shleppers Provided 2 trucks 6 men to Set-up for NYC Finish Line Festival. Truck was loaded with supplies and remained over night. The supply loaded truck was then placed at multiple rest stops to distribute to bikers.
American Diabetes Association
Shleppers picked up 100 large boxes of t-shirts, banners and event related supplies, 150+ cases of plastic bottle water, and 5000apples/5000oranges/5000bananas then delivered to multiple stops for the step out walk.
New York Road Runners (NYC Marathon)
Shleppers sent 6 trucks to picked up 20 Gaylords (10 double stacked pallets) on 2 different days and delivered to Central Park West.
Toy Drive
Shleppers provided pickups from specific locations and delivered to Coalition for the Homeless
Solomon Schechter School of Westchester
Solomon Schechter School of Westchester is a conservative Jewish Day School located in White Plains and Hartsdale, NY. Shleppers regularly donates manpower and trucks to support numerous events and class trips.
Park Avenue Methodist Day School
Park Avenue Methodist Day School (PAMDS), located on the Upper Eastside of Manhattan offers 75-80 pre-school children and their families an opportunity to embark on an educational path completely focused on the child's growth and individual talents. In a warm and exceptionally caring community, experienced and dedicated teachers support the child as he or she develops a sense of how to succeed in a community. PAMDS's warmth, inclusiveness and emphasis on partnership with parents are distinguishing characteristics that have greatly enhanced the early development of hundreds of young children. This first school experience helps build the foundation for the next phase of their lives. American Friends of Rabin Medical Center
American Friends of Rabin Medical Center is committed to helping Israel's Rabin Medical Center of Petah Tikvah fulfill its mission; sustain and expand its facilities with the most advanced technology and equipment by encouraging individual, family, corporate and institutional commitment to the hospital; publicly promoting the hospital; educating the public; encouraging visitation; creating joint ventures with other medical establishments; and by raising funds through a variety of programmatic efforts throughout the United States. JCC Maccabi Games
The JCC Maccabi Games took place in Westchester County in August 2009 and the JCC welcomed over 1,400 Jewish athletes ages 13-16 from across the US, Canada, Israel and South America. This Olympic-style sports competition provided a unique combination of sports, cultural and social activities. Shleppers was proud to be the official mover of the JCC Maccabi Games and provided logistical support and manpower to support the 2009 games.
Community Mayors Foundation
Community Mayors, Inc. is an all-volunteer 501-C-3 organization that has been providing recreational therapy for children with special needs from the New York metro area for more than fifty years. Shleppers brings the toys and games donated to the organization to the children served by the organization.
Bottomless Closet
Bottomless Closet provides professional clothing, job readiness, and post-employment training and coaching services to women on assistance and working-poor women.
Foodbank of New York
Food Bank For New York City is the City's major hunger-relief organization. Working to end hunger and increase access to affordable, nutritious food for low-income New Yorkers throughout the five boroughs.
Central Park Conservancy
Shleppers has a major interest in protecting the environment. As a result, Shleppers has teamed up with the Central Park Conservancy so that Shleppers will donate money to the Conservancy each time a customer submits a feedback letter on-line or by mail.
UJA Federation
Shleppers donated services to help bring furniture to a UJA-Federation beneficiary agency, which were later donated to two Westchester Jewish Community Services (WJCS) Programs. Read the thank you letter.
FAAN - Walk for Food Allergy

Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center

The Educational Alliance
The Educational Alliance currently serves 50,000 New Yorkers annually via 41 programs, including preschools, camps, after school programs, senior centers, health & wellness programs, arts & culture classes, counseling services, and addiction recovery programs. All programs feature intergenerational and cross-cultural activities -- bringing together people from different backgrounds and age groups, so they can learn from and with each other. Pass It On - White Plains
Kid's Kloset is a program of WJCS that provides children in need with gently-used clothing and essentials including strollers and carseats. Kid's Kloset solicits donations, which are passed on free of charge to local families who live below the federal poverty level.
